We're getting both a male and a female dachshund puppy within the next 3 weeks. Any advice on how to get them off to the very best start?
It will be the best ! My husband wasn't to thrilled when I brought my little dachshund home about a year and a half ago, we had a little Shih Tsu and he kept telling me this new dog would not be soft or loveable. Boy was he mistaken. She is the love of our life and is the most cuddly lap dog ever! The two dogs played all day and were lap puppies all night. We lost our little Shih Tsu about 6 months ago , although Nudog (named because I kept telling everybody I was getting a New Dog) misses her playmate, she has done the best job at filling the whole in our hearts. She was easily houebroken by using the crate method, now she whines when she needs out but usually does everything by routine. Good luck! I can't say enough about my girl!
Awww dachsund puppies are the cutest!! They look like lil furry hotdogs lol with long noses so sweet! Have a warm bed ready for them they will love it because it gives them the heated comfort that they had before they were weaned from their mother. Also puppy chow, eukanuba or something that is comparible to it with no additives prefferably, chicken or turkey with veggies is the best. Lay newspaper in a crate or you can buy puppy pads and put them in there...So that they won't go all over your floor, less of a hassle, and less to clean up though the pads can get costly. Shampoo depending on the color of your pups you will want to stick with no tear shampoo and go for something that is good for their coats, also boiled chicken cut up in small pieces puppies love it and its an excellent source of protein! That is about it spoil them with lots of love! They are such bundles of joys! I just got a puppy not to long ago she is a yorkinese ADORABLE!! Good luck!
