If your cat misses the dog when it is not around, then maybe she already likes him. My only suggestion would be to let them become friends naturally, don't force anything. My daughter has two cats and two dogs and they all get along well. She didn't force them on each other. She just made sure that there was no abuse going on between them and then let their friendships happen naturally. Of course the cats prefer the dog that does not chase them!
