Leashes for pets are an unspoken necessity for most pets. Having a dog without a leash is simply bad husbandry. There are many reasons why leashes are so important, yet many people continue to think their dogs are smart enough to go without a leash. This is a myth.
While many dogs do behave well, even without a leash, the fact remains that people never know when something could trigger a response in a dog that causes it to dart off. Dogs are not always smart enough to know when it is safe to cross a street, for example. If something triggers a dog to dart off, and the owner cannot catch it, the chances of it getting hurt somehow increase tremendously. That is why leashes for pets were invented in the first place. Leashes for pets were created to keep animals safe, to better protect people's beloved pets. Leashes for pets are a necessity.
